Simple Techniques to Enter Deep Meditation and Tap Into Kundalini Energy
In this post, I’ll share some simple yet powerful techniques that can help you enter deep meditation and trance-like states, allowing you to tap into your kundalini energy and higher consciousness.
Before we dive into the practices that led me to spontaneous states of altered consciousness, let me provide some background. Before these experiences, I was very new to meditation, having meditated maybe 10 to 20 times in my entire life. It’s also worth mentioning that I’ve never used substances stronger than a few too many shots of tequila in my younger days, and at the time, I hadn’t read anything suggesting these kinds of experiences were even possible. They just happened naturally, and only afterward did I research them to understand more.
The techniques I’m going to share are incredibly powerful—especially if your mind is open and ready for new experiences. There’s a saying that you have to be a little “crazy” to come to your full senses, because stepping into new perceptions can feel strange or scary at first. But don’t worry, you’re just accessing the higher levels of your consciousness.
Now, let me share two of my most profound meditative, hypnotic, and trance-like experiences.

My First Meditative Pre-Trance Experience
The first experience happened after my usual yoga and exercise routine. I was sitting cross-legged on my terrace and decided to try a few eye techniques that I’d previously used to deepen my spiritual connection with my partner. I thought these might also intensify my meditation, and they absolutely did.
The first technique involves keeping your eyes open and softly focusing on a specific point, while still taking in the entire field of vision without fixating on what you see. It's as though your eyes are absorbing everything, but without conscious effort.
After a few minutes, I noticed the edges of objects starting to slightly distort and twist. Soon after, white light began entering my field of vision, starting from the edges and moving toward the center. Although stunned, I remained calm. When I blinked and refocused, the light would disappear but eventually return.
If this happens to you while using this technique, don’t be alarmed. Stay calm—it’s simply your consciousness taking over, allowing you to see beyond the material world, almost like peering into the white void behind everything.
Next, I closed my eyes and focused softly on my third eye. My neck began to twist backward, as it had done before, but I had always corrected it. This time, I let it happen. Interestingly, my body naturally aligned into a perfectly straight sitting position without any effort on my part.
This was my first meditative and pre-trance moment, which felt like it was preparing my body for deeper, more spontaneous trance-like states.
My First Full Trance Experience
This more intense experience also followed my usual yoga and exercise routine. Again, I sat cross-legged with a 30-minute sandglass in front of me, listening to shamanic music. Using the same soft-focus technique, I saw the familiar distortion in my view and the white light entering my vision. I then closed my eyes and focused on my third eye. My neck started bending backward once more, and this time, I allowed it to go beyond vertical until I gently collapsed onto my yoga mat.
As I continued meditating in this position, my right hand began making small, involuntary movements, similar to the twitches you feel when you’re falling asleep. Gradually, these movements became stronger, and my wrist began to shake, almost like a rattlesnake’s tail, growing in intensity until my hands were tapping the floor and my chest. Energy built up inside me, moving my body as my left leg straightened and my upper body started swaying with the circular and shaking motions of my hands.
Suddenly, I felt a rush of emotion, and tears streamed down my face. It felt like a profound emotional release. When I finally opened my eyes, I looked at the sandglass and realized something strange—the sand had stopped flowing. I must have entered a meditative, timeless trance, experiencing some form of energetic self-healing.
What’s important to note is that I had full control to stop the experience at any time, but I chose to let it flow, allowing my body to move naturally.
After this experience, I learned that seeing white light is a sign of deep meditation and heightened spiritual states. I also discovered that the movements I experienced, called kriyas, occur when higher consciousness clears energy channels, allowing kundalini energy to rise.
My Second Intense Trance Experience
Between this experience and my second, I had about 10 similar meditation moments. Then, I tried a new technique I had read about in a book on kundalini tantra, and things became even more intense.
For my second trance, I used a modified version of the trataka technique. I lit a candle and held it at eye level, softly focusing on the flame while keeping awareness of my whole field of vision. As I stared, the flame began to split into two, slowly widening as though there were candles in front of both my eyes. I felt a deep, hypnotic calm wash over me, and then I noticed saliva dripping from my mouth. After wiping it away and closing my eyes, the kriyas began again.
Later, I learned that reactions like increased saliva and loss of bodily control are common during deep meditative states, as the body relaxes and the nervous system activity decreases.
Concluding Thoughts
These experiences may seem strange, but they are completely natural. Meditative trance allows higher spiritual energy to flow through your body, rebalancing your physical and mental state. It prepares you to experience the awakening of kundalini energy, which can enhance your perception, elevate your consciousness, and open you to new levels of energetic power.
